Music, Drama, and Visual Arts
The Music & Arts Ministries exist to enhance the worship experience at Christ Church. These teams strive to glorify God in their art and in their everyday lives; worship is not just what happens on Sunday morning, it is how we choose to glorify God every day, wherever we are. The variety of ministries provides an outlet for every person to express their faith, grow in their relationship with God, and share their God-given talents with the community.
Called By Name
The Christ Church praise band leads worship each week at our Contemporary and Modern Worship services. This group rehearses Wednesday evenings in the Lower Worship Room year-round. Currently, the band consists of typical rock-band instruments, but they are always on the look-out for different, complementary instrumentation. Called By Name is always open to new members based on an audition process and a desire to serve the Lord through time and talents. Their contemporary and edgy style is a combination of the musical background and creative input from all of its members. Audition Information>>
CC Handbell Ringers
This ensemble has a long tradition of excellence as a pillar music ministry at Christ Church. Anyone with musical background will find it easy to learn to play handbells and chimes, but prior experience or even musical knowledge are optional, as we can provide training in those areas. The CC Handbell Ringers can be heard at our Traditions Worship services. They also play at our Bethlehem Experience and other major events during the year. They rehearse weekly from September to May on Thursdays, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, in the Lower Worship Room. Contact our Traditions Coordinator for information on joining our handbell family.
CC Holiday Chorale
Do you like to sing? Have you sung in choirs before? Are you limited in the time you can devote to choir rehearsals? Consider being a part of this group, as a way to serve and minister to our Traditions service worshipers. As a holiday season approaches, this group gets together to prepare well-known traditional hymns arranged especially for choirs (e.g., Hallelujah Chorus for the Easter service). Individual recordings allow participants to practice at home, minimizing the number of required rehearsals. This is a non-auditioned ensemble, so everyone is welcome! Anyone middle school age and above is welcome to join at any time. Contact the Traditions Coordinator today so we can get you on the list for our next holiday event.
CC Men’s Gospel Group
If you enjoy beautiful harmonies and inspiring gospel music, you’ll enjoy listening to this group at our Traditions service. The group usually meets weekly (Tuesdays 4:30 – 6:00 pm in the Lower Worship Room) to rehearse gospel music that will be featured during one of our services. If you are a tenor, baritone or bass and interested in joining the group, please contact our Traditions Coordinator.
Singers & Musicians
During our Traditions service, we usually have one or more singers leading the hymns. When time permits, we encourage the singer to sing a solo after Pastor’s message. We are always looking for singers who would like this opportunity to be a worship leader.
If you play a brass, string, or woodwind instrument, we would like to give you the opportunity to share your gift at our Traditions Worship service. Individuals or small ensembles can be used to enhance the worship experience at our services or on special occasions. We encourage accomplished musicians of any age to participate.
Let our Traditions Coordinator know what you can do and we will find the right place to use your gifts.
The Christ Church Drama ministry strives to bring creative and inspiring elements to the worship experience on Sundays. From dramatic readings to small skits and monologues, we continue to expand our impact each time we are part of a worship service. We are looking for anyone interested in drama, regardless of experience.
Actors are not the only discipline we are looking to add. Anyone interested in writing, directing, or costumes is encouraged to find out more. Opportunities to participate happen throughout the year, and commitments are very flexible. We work around your schedule as much as we can on a per need basis.
Our goal is always to serve God in a meaningful way. This ministry allows us to serve in a different and fun way. If you have any questions or want to learn more, please contact our Drama Coordinator, Leopold Shircel at email@example.com.
The visual arts team exists for creative visual minds to come together and serve--using individual creative talents to speak as a collective entity and stimulate imagination, connection and elevate the presence of God. From sketching, to building set designs to painting live on a Sunday morning, our visual arts team is always looking for more people who would like to serve in this capacity. Come let's worship God together!
