HOW WE DO IT
Not everyone learns the same way, speaks the same language, or values the same rituals. Therefore, to meet as many needs as possible, we are a multi-venue church with multiple styles of worship, many types of Groups, and lots of ways to serve.
Statistically, only 35% of families will tie into a church family when the children feel welcome. This number rises to 55% when the mother buys into the organization. However, the percentage jumps to 85% when the father gets tied in. For this reason, we strive to create physical spaces, ministries, and events that focus heavily on the comfortability of our male population.
We authentically care for people through our Groups and Care Ministries.
We seek to make a significant impact through our strategic partnerships in our communities and internationally.
Uphold the Bible as a compass for everything we do and remain focused on the main mission of bringing people into a purposeful relationship with Christ.
Practice relevant, authentic, Biblical teaching.
Focus on reaching de-churched and un-churched people, especially men.
Use multi-style worship expressions, technology, and media to reach new people for Christ, re-energize de-churched followers, and excite existing Christ followers.
Keep Sunday morning as the primary focus of ministry. “It’s all about Sunday, because Monday Matters."
Encourage creativity, innovation, and risk-taking within worship and ministry practices.
Build children’s and youth ministries as pillars for reaching new families for Christ and establishing a new generation of Christ-followers. Be magnetic - we want kids to wake up Mom and Dad and say, “let’s go!”
Promote spiritual growth and outreach through adult learning and discipleship.
Be a generous church that takes tithing seriously and serves people in need across the local and global communities. We are radically generous because we have received radical generosity from God.
Build and expand a facility that allows for contemporary ministry and an alternative to traditional church.
Develop strong Christian leaders who serve Christ in the community and create a public witness for Christ Church.
Grow and accomplish ministry in ways that differentiate Christ Church from other churches in the area.
Support, mentor, and collaborate with other churches and Christian organizations to renew the church and make an impact as Christ Church.
HOW WE LIVE
ALWAYS ON MISSION. Wherever we go, whatever we do, however we serve…we are on mission to reach one more person for Christ.
INVITE THROUGH RELATIONSHIP. Through relationship with His Son, God invited us to participate in His future for the world; now we do the same through relationship with others.
BE CHURCH VERSUS DO CHURCH. We don’t just “do church”, we are the church and we expect God to use us for His purposes. Through us, He will still do amazing things as He changes lives.
WE ALL PLAY A PART. Each of us has been given at least one spiritual gift to use in serving His church. We get involved and joyfully engage our talents.
WE LIVE UP TO THE NAME ON THE SIGN. We strive to become fully-devoted followers of Christ, conforming to His word, teaching, and sacrificial life.
SUNDAY FIRST, BECAUSE MONDAY MATTERS. We focus on bringing scriptural teaching to relevant living so that what we experience together on Sunday will impact the way we live on Monday and beyond.
I AM CHRIST CHURCH. Christ Church is not a building or institution; it’s a movement of people in the cause for Christ.
WE VALUE THESE PERSONAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH PRACTICES:
- Having an active prayer relationship with God
- Spending time daily studying God’s Word, the Bible
- Participating in a small Group or Bible study
- Attending weekly worship services
- Serving God in the church and community
- Sharing your faith story with others
- Honoring God first through a regular 10% tithe
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We teach that there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is spirit (John 4:24), indivisible (Deuteronomy 6:4), of infinite power and wisdom (Jeremiah 10:12), and goodness (2 Chronicles 7:3, Matthew 19:17). We believe that God created all things, visible and invisible, and that He continues to sustain and preserve all things in accordance with His own gracious will.
We teach that Jesus Christ, the second person in the Trinity, is the Lord and Savior of the world. We believe Jesus is the Word of God made man, that he was in the beginning with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and that all things were created through him (John 1:1-5, 14).
We believe that Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, born of the Virgin Mary, was sent to suffer and die on the cross as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. We believe that he was raised from the dead by the power of God so that we might receive forgiveness of sin and everlasting life with God in heaven.
We believe that Jesus will return at the end of time in judgment (John 5:27-30). We believe that just as Jesus was obedient to the will of God the Father, we too, should be imitators of his obedience and life, and therefore, love and serve as he did (Ephesians 4:11-13, 5:1-2).
We teach that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is active in the lives of people today (John 14:16-17).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is at work calling us, building us in to a holy temple (Ephesians 2:22), and teaching us how to live the new life we have been given in Christ (John 16:13-14, Romans 8:13-16, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We believe that every Christian ought to desire to be “filled” with the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 5:18).
BIBLE - WORD-CENTERED
We are Word-centered and teach that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. As such, it is the definitive authority for all matters of our faith and lives. We believe that the Bible is true and bears witness to the saving grace of God in Jesus Christ, the word made flesh (John 5:39, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We teach that we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not something that we can earn or attain on our own. This was God’s choice so that we would in all matters learn to be dependent upon Him (John 1:12-13, 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-10
We teach that Christ is the head of the church, which is gathered by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit calls and gathers believers together in order that we may be empowered and equipped to carry out the Great Commission of Christ to go out and preach, teach, baptize, and make disciples of all nations. We believe that the purpose of the church is to bear witness to Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:14-16; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13, 2:22).
DISCIPLESHIP - 10-WEEK 1-on-1 PROGRAM
We teach that Christian life is lived out in the call of Jesus, “Follow me.” Discipleship is a lifelong call to obedience, love, service, study, prayer, worship, fellowship, stewardship and spiritual growth. We offer a 10-week one-on-one Discipleship opportunity as well as a variety of small Groups.
BAPTISM - INFANT/ADULT
Jesus commands his followers to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," (Matthew 28:19). This is not a polite suggestion. It is a command from Jesus which he gives as his "last words" before his ascension into heaven.
The Bible does not say that we are saved by baptism. It clearly says that we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8). The assurance of salvation comes when the promises proclaimed at baptism are claimed and confirmed.
At Christ Church, we baptize people of all ages – infants through adults – with water, “in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” (the Trinity). We recognize all Christian baptisms performed in this manner as valid and lasting.
CONFIRMATION - 9TH GRADE+
As baptized infants and children grow, their faith grows through hearing and experiencing God's Word. Confirmation is a time for those who have been baptized as infants or children to make a public affirmation of their Christian faith (saying "yes" to God!). We confirm students 9th grade and beyond.
COMMUNION - 5TH GRADE+
The first communion or The Lord’s Supper can be found in the Bible (Luke 22:1-20). At Christ Church we participate in communion every Sunday and believe that Jesus’ body and blood are present in the bread and wine. We invite all who are seeking a deeper relationship with Christ to receive communion with us.
